Made's Warung Kuta Bali

Roxuai : Made's Warung Kuta Bali

Made's Warung is one of the most famous Indonesia / Balinese restaurants in Bali. With a restaurant in Kuta and this one in the heart of Seminyak. Serving Balinese food, Indonesian food, Thai food, Western food and Japanese food. With a nice indoor dining area with large fans or a nice courtyard with tables undercover. With free WiFi internet access. Ask your waiter or waitress for the password.

Made’s Warung is quite an institution in Bali. It was in fact one of the first casual dining cafe in Bali. The very first outlet was located on Jalan Raya Pantai Kuta, right off the road. It can get a bit noisy and chaotic. The Seminyak outlet is more protected from the road, with seating areas wrapping around an open courtyard. The main restaurant has a mezzanine level that overlooks the rest of the dining area.

Made's Warung Kuta Bali is easily noticed by a lot of funny statues in front of it.. inside, you can find not only restaurant, but also some famous Indonesian designers' stores.. the decoration of the restaurant itself is really nice.. it's an open-air restaurant with ethnic, wooden furniture.. it gave a feeling that we're in some old friend's house.. every night, there's a different show performed in the middle of the restaurant.. when I visited it, it was traditional Balinese dance performed by young children, which I think was  such a good way to introduce Bali's rich culture.. I love the open-air concept, though after a while, my feet was bitten by mosquitoes..

Service here is casual but quite efficient. Once you are seated, your order is taken quickly and the food comes out within minutes. We ordered one of the famous Nasi Campur Special, and one Nasi Campur with half Gado Gado (Indonesian Salad). The Nasi Campur was really impressive - it came with more then 10 different small portions of Indonesian dishes - including beef rendang, smoked chicken, sambal prawns, etc.

The taste of everything was very good and authentic. This is a very satisfying way to sample many different dishes on one plate, and you can see why Nasi Campur is so popular in Indonesia and also Malaysia. The Gado Gado version had more vegetable dishes which were also really delicious.

We also ordered a vegetable soup, a light broth which complemented the spiciness of the rice dishes.

And finished with some Banana Fritters, served with palm sugar. Some vanilla ice cream would have made it perfect.

Some may consider Made's Warung a bit touristy, and the pricing is definitely not hawker standard, but the quality of the food and the great ambiance makes it a really enjoyable lunch or dinner venue. Try it at least once. You may be hooked !

Kebab Palace Kuta Bali

Roxuai : Kebab Palace Kuta Bali

The one and only real Kebab in town, Turkish and Greek Salad and Dips. Its located at the ever busy Jalan Kartika Plaza. The stretch that goes a long way to Seminyak area. The good thing about staying at Febri's Kuta was its walking distance to many shopping malls and shops. When ever we were free, we just walked around the Kuta area.

I was very happy when I found that there's a Turkish/Middle Eastren restaurant at legian street, Kuta, just outside Discovery Shopping Mall, finally Middle Eastern food, the food was OK but not impressive, I had Chicken shish tawook it came with rice, also had baba ganoush which was the best I ever had surprisingly and French fries, the portion of the food were so small in my opinion you pay more than you get but since it was my only choice I can not complain. it's outdoor so it's hot no a/c just a fan. the service took so long, and it's some how overpriced. but no food poisoning which was good

Favorite Dish: baba ganoush

Waterbom Kuta Bali – Waterpark Fun

Roxuai : Waterbom Kuta Bali – Waterpark Fun

You've never been to WaterbomWaterbom is a water playground rides (not for serious swimming), here you can play like a slide with the tires, of course, the slide asiknya is very high, so it is usually at the beginning makes you feel scared, but after testing addictive. There are a variety of rides to play in the water, such as around casually around the rink with tires, then there is also a vehicle to play volleyball in the water, and the most exciting of which is a vehicle to play slide (Macaroni, Jungle Ride, Raft River, Race Track, Boogie Ride , Smash Down, Superbowl, Boomerang Chill and most shockingly exciting is the Climax).

Waterbom Kuta Bali – Waterpark Fun

Waterbom Park is a great day out for all the family. We recently enjoyed our second trip there and event hough there were only the 2 of us we still had a great day. There are plenty of slides to cater fro all needs and if that is not your style you can float around teh lazy river on your tube but watch out for the monkeys spitting water at you!  It cost $US18.50 per adult or you can opt for a family pass for $US50 for 2 adults & 2 children. We were lucky enough to have a 10% off which you can find in brochures all over Bali advetising restaurants etc. There are plenty of food outlets which are quite reasonable as you are not able to take your own food or drink inside. Security is quite strict they check all bags on the way in.

Go as many times as you can on Smash Down, Race Track, Rafty River, Macaroni Tubes and the Boogie & Jungle rides until your legs can't carry you up the stairs to the top of the slides any longer. When this happens take a leisurely cruise along the lazy river or hang out with the kids in the kid zone.

Kuta Nightlife : Sky Garden 61 Legian Bali

Roxuai : Kuta Nightlife : Sky Garden 61 Legian Bali

Legian Sky garden is the most crowded and most popular club in Bali but it inly occupies the top floor of Legian 61, so this tip will be on the Legian 61 Complex, I will have a separate tip on the Legian Sky Garden. 61 Legian is the tallest building in the JL Legian area and you would not miss it as it lies just beside the Vi Ai Pi and a stone's throw away from the Bali Bomb Memorial. this buidling complex houses 6 floors and 10 different entertainment complexes like ESC Urban Food Station, Blarney Stone, Club Cyclone, Brandy's Club, Heineken Beer Garden, VIP Gold Pass Lounge, The VIP Sky High Club, George's Sports and the most popular of them all, the Legian Sky Garden at the Roof Top. these complexes have different opening and closing times but the main entrance is located at the ground floor of which foreigners are charged an entrance fee of 50,000 rupiah for entrance for all venues

Sky Garden started as a simple, forward-thinking, dining and entertainment venue on Jalan Legian, right in the centre of downtown Kuta in 2005. From those humble beginnings they have now become one of the largest and most frequented venues on the island. Sky has always had a trend setting, contemporary edge right from the beginning, utilizing dynamic ideas, design and promotional visuals and activities to attract a variety of customers over the years including expats, locals, and obviously a large bunch of tourists. With the final stages being completed now, and with a firm date of completion locked in for this December 26th, we thought it was time the beat caught up with Marketing Chief, Sean Mac for a chat about Bali’s busiest venue.

Another good thing about Sky Garden is that the entrance is free, so if you are not sure whether you will like it or not, you can always check inside first. If you order drinks though, it will be more expensive than the average for Kuta (Rp50k for a beer if I remember correctly). The different complexes are interconnected by several stairways and different dance lounges and you would hardly know where the specific area you are unless you read the signs signifying you are in this particular place.  most of the venues are open from 6:00 pm to 3:00 am everyday

Dress Code:

casual, they accept shorts and flip flops but no beach attire please.
