At Night, Jalan Legian Transforms into one large party place, which is concentrated in the vicinity of the Bali Memorial up to after a hundred meters from the entrance to Poppies Lane 2 and the various sounds of hip hop, trance and club music from many bars and clubs are ear splitting to say the least. the road will begin to get busy at 10pm, peaking in traffic around 1 or 2 in the morning before easing down again at 3:00 am as local Bali government imposed a deadline closing time of 3:00 am for all restaurants and bars and lounges and clubs in bali since 2011.

JL Pantai Kuta maybe the Beach Road but JL Legian, lying parallel to it, and is just a few hundred meters away from Kuta Beach, is the main street of Kuta and of the whole of Bali as this long street that starts from seminyak up to the intersection with JL Pantai Kuta, is the hotspot of the Party, Dining and Nightlife Activity of Kuta and Bali. During the day, this main street is busy with shoppers and tourists who will eat at the assorted restaurants and shops and beach shops like sufer girl that lies along the street. it has openings to the famous alleys of Kuta, Poppies Lane 1 and 2 and tons of souvenir shops and notorious "magic mushroom" hallucegenic drugs. haggling is the norm in this shopping area as prices are inflated for the tourists.

We first stopped here for a cold drink and a quick bite to eat for lunch. We enjoyed it so much that we were back again for dinner that same night. In fact we had a few meals here over the course of a week. A few araks were also drunk one night, didn't feel too good the next morning! Actually every night we were there we had to have one!! The boss, Yuda, is a real showman. He knows how to pull the customers in. All the staff are lovely, in particular Lodi. I received wonderful massages after my meal and I was still seated at the table!!

Not sure that I have a favourite dish because I enjoyed everything we ate......lumpia, satay squid, duck, nasi goreng, even the vegetarian pizza was good!

This is one of the dances that can be seen in the grounds of the Ubud palace. I believe this one was called the Legong trance & paradise dance dance as it was a Thursday night.(See dance schedule on website below). The costumes, color,energy and music that are part of this dance makes it a must see when spending the night in Ubud.

The open air setting of the lounge makes its perfect for you to have your fun times under the beautiful Bali sky.

The best thing about the place is that they are very active when it comes to organizing special events: Costume parties, beach parties, Mexican parties, International DJs, Sexy dancers, Foreign Coyote girls, etc... Babi Guling is the real authentic local Balinese cuisine. One of the famous restaurant in Ubud is Babi Guling Ibu Oka. This restaurant is just beside the Ubud Market and opposite the Ubud Palace so you can visit these 3 places in one day which are all within walking distance of 2 min.It is obvious that their specialty is Babi Guling - which is translated to "rolled pig".

Babi Guling is like a sort of Roast Pork where the skin is really crispy and the meat is succulent and juicy. The dish was also served with a side of vegetables and some fried thingie at the side (you don't want to know what it is, so leave it alone and dont eat it like what i did lol) just look at the thick crispy pork skin! The pork was amazingly succulent and the crust of the roast pork was very crispy. The restaurant was really packed with people, both locals and tourists. Prices were reasonable too around $5 a plate.

Babi Guling is a very famous Balinese dish. It may seem puzzling why a pork dish can be so popular in Indonesia. It must be remembered that although Islam is the main religion in Indonesia, most Balinese are actually Hindus. Babi Guling is a widely celebrated dish that was eaten on special occasions. Now, it is easily available at small eateries or 'warungs' around Bali and even some touristy places. It is one of the must try dishes in Bali!

I read somewhere in virtualtourist that this place was feature by Anthony Bourdian's "No Reservation". No surprising as it is real good but a bit expensive I think. It was packed and there was a long queue when I got here but its well worth it. A bowl of rice with a chuck of babi guling and its cripsy skin, some mixed vegetables, stuffed intestines and some shaved cooked coconut with spice sauce cost about Rp 35,000.

Babi Guling Ibu Oka Ubud Bali

After so many years in operation, Ku De Ta remains the coolest night spot in Bali. This year they are celebrating their 10th Anniversary. Started by an Australian entrepreneur, Ku De Ta is actually an entertainment complex offering lounge areas, bar areas, and dining. They have added a 1st floor lounge area next to the beach for even better views at sunset.

When night falls, all the rich and beautiful in Bali gather at this trendy outpost to soak in the gold -gilded and diamond encrusted atmosphere. When we were there, the placed was packed. All the lounge chairs were taken, and there was standing room only on the deck next to the beach. The view of the sunset from here is truly beautiful, and I can see the attraction of very this cool but expensive establishment.

After miles of walking. This cafe is a good place to chill and relax. As you see in the pictures, you sit on a bamboo carpet and eat on a very low table. The food here is a bit pricey, and I dont think it is worth the money. If you're looking for good food, go someplace else, but if you're looking to just chill and relax, and maybe have some desserts or drinks, this is the place for you.

The atmosphere is lovely, set in a garden off the main, Monkey Forest Road, with fountains, statues, and traditional Balinese floor tables (don’t forget to remove your shoes ), or Western tables with chairs. Service at Cafe Wayan, is with a smile, and during dinner there are plenty on staff to help meet your needs. Don’t feel the need to dress up too much; you are on a tropical vacation, after all

The restaurant serves an extensive menu of Balinese specialities and homemade breads. Café Wayan also provides Balinese cooking classes conducted upon request only. Cooking Classes are conducted on request in the gardens of Laka Leke - a sister restaurant in Nyuhkuning nearby Alam Indah hotel. If you happen to visit Ubud over the weekend, do not miss the sumptuous traditional Balinese buffet served every Sunday evening for only IDR 120,000 (around USD 12) per person.

When you enter the restaurant, you have no idea what can expect inside. The restaurant is located in a beautiful garden. The tables are far enough apart to ensure privacy. The staff is very friendly, professional and courteous. Various pavilions surrounded by flowers, trees, vines and ponds provide a beautiful ambient to very well prepared food to enjoy. Even if the card anmutet very international and Indonesian dishes are really good, and not cheap tourist food. It was a wonderful experience to eat there. The food is delicious and the selection is touted to be the huge Indonesian dishes. The ambient in the garden - unique. The staff tries hard to fulfill every wish, really very accommodating. the other dishes.

If you’re going to dine in Cafe Wayan & Bakery, do look for the outdoor seat at the back side of the yard. Ask for a table at the back by the small fish pond & do sit on cushions, not at the tables. And you’ll find yourself relax! I could even take a nap there. Although this place seems small and a little bit “dark” from the outside, back so far of the yard is incredible.

Favorite Dish: No favorite dish, come here to relax, have some drinks, and straighten your feet after miles of walking..

The tequila bar is an open air bar that is connected to the Samudra Restaurant and Bar of the same hotel and it offers various tequilas ranging from the common like Jose Cuervo to the mid price like Patron and the luxe and also Mezcal and other assorted Liqours and Cocktails. they also have both local and international beers ranging from Bali Hai, San Miguel, Heineken, Corona and more. starting at 9:00 pm, they have live bands performing up to 1:00 am everyday and they are open up to 2:00 am and there is no cover charge for the live bands. beers start at 35,000 rupiah and above and tequila shots at 40,000 rupiah and up. like most establishments here in kuta, they have free wifi service for guests.
